He Ascended on High to Sat at the Right Hand of the Father He Ascended to Sit at the Right Hand of the Father
覀姯o whom He [the Savior] also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. Now when He had spoken these things, while they [the disciples] watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men [angels] stood by them in white apparel, who also said, 媂en of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven仮仮 (Acts 1:3, 911).
After Jesus completed His Father䏭 entrustment (accomplished the work of salvation), He returned to heaven. He ascended on high, captured the enemy, and will one day bring the sons of God into His glory. He now sits at the right hand of God till God makes His enemy (the devil) His footstool. And so, at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. And every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Christ is making intercession for us daily. He is our mediator. When we ask in His name, the Father will answer us. He has promised, 覀𦵑nd whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son仮 (John 14:13). As believers of Jesus, we can ask in His name, and He is more than willing to solve all our problems, big or small. Since He did not spare His own life, but freely laid it down for us, is there anything else He would hold back from us? All we have to do is come to His throne of grace and tell Him our needs, and He will have mercy on us. He comforts the broken-hearted, supplies the needy, protects the afflicted, heals the sick, and revives the weak.
If you write to a friend and don脌 receive a reply, you may think that he has moved. But if you send a telegram (prayer) to the Lord Jesus, He will answer you soon and solve all your problems. Then you will know for certain that our Savior lives, and that He is now seated on high. He is full of mercy and power, ready to answer all our prayers. What have we to fear when we have such a precious Savior who will save us to the end? Shouldn脌 we love Him, fear Him, and treasure the salvation He accomplished for us? Shouldn脌 we lead a holy life to glorify and satisfy Him on earth?
