He Was Raised from the Dead on the Third Day He Was Raised from the Dead on the Third Day
While the Lord Jesus was buried in the grave, those who loved and followed Him were in despair. But the devil and those who hated Him were elated. The death of Jesus seemed to be the end㺱arkness seemed to have triumphed over the light of the truth. But on the third day, the Son of God was raised from the dead, proving to the world that He is the living God, the Lord of heavens and earth, and that He cannot be held by death. Even the biggest tomb in the world would fail to hold His incorruptible life. His resurrection declares victory over hell, death and the devil: 覀婡 Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?仮 (1 Cor. 15:55). Hallelujah! The Lord has risen! He was raised to manifest the life of God. In Him is life, because He is the everlasting life. And He gives everlasting life to all who receive His salvation that they may be justified. Jesus was crucified for our iniquities, paying the wages of sin to meet God䏭 righteous demand and to turn away His judgment. This debt of 覀泟in仮 that God required from us has been met by the blood of the Lord Jesus. The resurrection of Jesus satisfied God䏭 righteous demand on men. Therefore, according to God䏭 righteousness, all who believe in His beloved Son are justified.
All the religious founders of the world are dead, and their lives have vanished. But Christ is not some deceased founder of a religion. He is the living Savior of mankind. He was dead, and behold He is alive forevermore. If Christ is not risen, then our preaching is in vain, so also is your faith. Nevertheless, He rose again and was seen by many for 40 days. Some touched His nail-pierced hands; others felt His pierced side. Since then, countless saints have had their blood shed and died martyrs to testify to His resurrection. Today, many born-again Christians also bear wonderful witness to His resurrection, because they possess the life of Christ䏭 resurrection. This life frees them from the punishment and bondage of sin, and lives out the nature of Christ. Therefore, if we have this new life in us, we should depart from the accursed sinful life of the past and seek a new life of holiness (please read A New Creation).
We thank the Lord! He is risen, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness. Not only are our spirits revived to resume fellowship with God, but our souls are also revived𥿡eing transformed by the renewing of our mind. One day, our bodies will also be revived, and we will be glorified with the Lord forever. Although Christians also cannot escape the death in the flesh, this death is merely falling asleep in Christ. Christ is risen from the dead and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. When He returns, they will rise from the dead. Jesus said, 覀𦲀 am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live仮 (John 11:25). What Adam lost has been regained through the resurrection of Christ浧od has regained His glory, and we received a glorious hope. Since we believe in Jesus, we should also die and be raised with Him, walking in the newness of life to glorify His name.
