The Way God Works
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, �𦲂lessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!�仮�� (Matt. 23: 37��39).
God speaks and works. His epochal will and plan for each era are always made known to the world through the special vessel He chooses in that era. This is the way God works. The Bible says: �𦒈od, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds�� (Hebrews 1:1��2). After the Lord�䏭 ascension to heaven, God speaks �𦭛hrough the apostles chosen by the Holy Spirit�� (Acts 1:2). Therefore, in order to understand God�䏭 epochal will and fulfill His epochal plan, God�䏭 children must follow the way God works and recognize God�䏭 chosen vessel in that era.
In the olden days (Old Testament era), God spoke and worked through His chosen prophets. In the last days (the era when God�䏭 son Jesus Christ, the Word became flesh, came to the world), God spoke and worked through His Son Jesus Christ. In the era of the Holy Spirit (New Testament era�𤤗fter the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost), God, through the Holy Spirit, charged the chosen apostles to speak and work. In the Old Testament era, all the works of God were recorded in the Torah (the five books of Moses), the chronicles, and the books of the prophets. In the era of the Lord Jesus, all His works were recorded in the Four Gospels. In the era of the Holy Spirit, the works of the Holy Spirit were recorded in the Acts of the Apostles and in the apostles�� epistles. Since it is the Holy Spirit that works in the New Testament, why isn�脌 it called the Acts of the Holy Spirit instead? This is because the Holy Spirit worked through the apostles. Thus, the Acts of the Apostles is actually the Acts of the Holy Spirit.
